k...the cr wing went on without a hitch...i got a guy at honda to do it for me...had to pay 2hrs labor but it was worth it...he didn't even use the nuts/bolts that came with it, he used better ones and washers that help stabalize the wing on the trunk so it won't dent the trunk...the cr springs don't "pop" open the trunk as well as the old springs did without the wing on...but whatever, that's minor. that wing was worth every penny.
The CR trunk's reinforcement is not "just a strip of metal". It actually has creases, and quite a bit of shape that is not readily visible.
I took some pictures. I apologize for the terrible lighting, it was taken right now with a flashlight.
The "Strip of Metal"
The top hole
An attempt at showing the structure underneath. This was taken with the camera about pointed 45 degrees counter-clockwise relative to the previous picture.
This one, I 'reached in' with the camera, but it didnt turn out too well.
I'll try to get some better pictures in daylight, but the CR trunk's extra structure is different.
The CR trunk also uses additional supports around the edges of the trunk, all four of which have left clear markings where they rest on the rear quarterpanels and bumper.
