Default Cracked header

Accidently bought and ordered this morning a hks dual exhaust because i thought it was cracked lol. After ordering i was thinking something was wrong and double checked. Turns out my headers were cracked where it connects to the catalytic converter.

I know aftermarket headers dont do nothing for our car really...
and cant weld it since its stainless steel.
What are my options?
Buy a aftermarket header or used oem?

Given how effective, cheap and widely available the OEM is, its a no brainer.

What brand is that header?

Its a dc sports header bought by previous owner. If i bought and installed oem header with the hks installed would i need a tune? Idk if the previous owner tuned it with the aftermarket headers.

Sorry for being new not sure how it works.

I don't see how a header change can have drastic changes to warrant a re-tune.

Wasnt sure i did research and people say that the car starts to run leaner with bolt ons. So i will be fine with just installing oem headers and aftermarket exhaust without a tune?

Thanks! For fast reply

What model year is the car? Pretty doubtful that it’s tuned at all from the prior owner. A new header doesn’t need a tune. Pretty sure that dc header was shown to lose power way back. You don’t see many people run it. An affordable aftermarket header is the ppm header which is basically a J’s copy. Or just find a used oem header. If you can find one local it should be fairly cheap.

My car is a 2003.

Only oem headers i could find so far is that which is $800 new

and a used oem from ebay for like $130 to 200 range.

Not many s2000s here where i live so getting it locally would be hard id imagine.

I mean might as well get a New plm header for extra $200 dollars than a beat up oem header right?

I mean that second link doesn’t look to beat up to me but either that or a plan is going to be better that a cracked header.

if the DC header makes the same power or has negligible difference, the biggest benefit to it is that it's 15-20lb (guesstimate) lighter than stock. i just sold one a few weeks ago because i'm in califonria and the dc header i had predated the carb exemption. i would personally go with a used OEM one.

this guy parts out s2000's, he has one. not the greatest seller (sold me a bunch of suspension with dead bushings and bearings) but a header should be fine.
