no it will not...i use to have nothing back there until recently...i finally got out the rotozip and tape measure...I would recommend cutting it as well, looks so much better....but then again I still have no trunk carpet so I dont know why I am even worrying about looks....who knows

i think you're talking about the softtop tray. Ive had mine off for over 2 years now and no problems other than hearing more road noise coming from the rear.
