I have a pair of APR GT3 mirrors left over from a previous car and I'm thinking about throwing them on the S. This means I would need to make or buy bases. Has anyone tried making their own, or can anyone recommend a "reasonably priced" pre-made base that uses the stock mounting location?

I would try contacting APR and see if they would sell just the bases? No need to reinvent the wheel.

 

Their bases kinda suck. They just barely cover the holes in the door from the oem mirrors. They also don't match the slight curve in the door in that area. I'm using them but I wish there was a better looking/fitting replacement.

 

I did, they are $250 which I could buy a new set of mirrors with bases for...not worth it IMO

agreed, I hated them on my STi. That's why I'm seeing if anyone has tried fabbing their own
