Custom Build Turbo?
So for a major project I plan on building a custom turbo system for my S. Its a 2001 with a little over 80k miles on it. If this is a bad idea then please let me know! My plan is to make a kit that is comparable or better (boost and response wise) to a Greddy kit. I personally have small welding skills and know a couple people who can weld and am hooked up with an exhaust shop that can bend the piping and weld for me if need be. I plan to build everything excpet the turbo itself and the fuel injectors and intercooler. My original thought was to get a turbo and manifold off of a GTI or Audi TT and use the flanges and everything to make my own manifold. I have a header that I can use to build from and mount on the engine. What are some thoughts on this project? What is EVERYTHING that I need. What are the most recomended injectors, turbo, manifold, intercooler, boost control, blow off valve, etc. Thanks in advance to everyone who helps me out.
What about if you were to say, GO to the FORCED INDUCTION section and read there? Not trying to be a dick but this site has more than enough information already posted tons of times.
80k miles is fine, its a Honda, just breaking it in.

Do a search and you will find a lot of useful info or post in the FI.. There are a lot of knowledgable people willing to help out but i would recomend trying the search button and learning a little bit more.... If you are not going for huge power then you might be best off with the greddy kit ... you would learn a lot to do with FI on this car and it is drop in...I wouldn't recomend you do a custom build, rather pick up mases kit and go from there.. do a search on it..
Its quite obvious you know very little about what goes into creating a Turbo systems and even if you know people that could help, your gonna be spending alot more money having them fab this stuff up,when you could buy a complete kit for less and make proven, reliable power.
