Default debating doing custom exhaust

i would like to get some more sound for my s2000 and would also like any extra performance i can get as well and since i dont have the money to get the T1R sparrow single i would like to get started to think about doing a custom 2.5 cat back exhaust. will be mandrel bent piping and try to keep it as straight and smooth flowing as possible and want to use vibrant ultra quiet resonator My link and a borla proXS muffler [url="http://www.summitracing.com/parts/bor-40364"]My link[/url.

do you guys think that those parts will keep it pretty quiet? will those parts keep it from droning since i drive it daily drone would be annoying. anything you guys would recommend in place of those parts for better performance while not getting really loud? what if any performance gains could i see with this setup or your recommended parts? also i cant stand raspy sounding exhuast do you think this would have a chance to be raspy?

thanks for your time and help in this matter have no clue about doing custom stuff

There's TONS of posts concerning this. Short answer: no exhaust will give you appreciable gains without sound compromise. Best exhaust mod: test pipe.

Agreed ^^^ I have a Berk TP and the car just feels much better with it. I don't know how it would sound or feel with an OEM exhaust but I do like it paired up with my Skunk 2 Megapower exhaust.

I have a test pipe AND a blower pushing 18 psi behind it and it's not much louder than stock. No drone at all either.

Are you using stock exhaust?

^ Yes. ap1. Started with a berk hi flow cat, but it didn't last long and when you think about it, I shouldn't have expected it to (my tuner also told me so). Over 500 lb/min of air through 2.5" is quite appreciable.

Nice. I've been debating going back to stock to quiet it down but was worried I'd lose a bit of power being high boost.

well i dont want to do a test pipe because of the smell and the rasp that creeps into the sound with it on almost every video i have seen. i do want to get a berk high flow cat soon after doing the exhaust to free it up more.

I'd only do the exhaust if you're looking for more sound or to save weight. I wouldn't spend money for custom exhaust with keeping it quiet as a goal and planning to make noticeable power.

i dont want it really quiet i would like some nice deep smooth sound just not alot when i want it quiet when police are around there are exhaust laws here in virginia and my friend on 2 out of the 3 cars he has had has gotten 3 tickets for it so if i need to shift to i higher gear and drop the revs i would like it quiet but when i want to have fun which is most of the time i would like some good noise just not drone .

and as far as performance im not expecting to get 20rwhp i am realistic i would just like to get as much as i can with this kind of setup and having all the pipes as straight and smooth bent as possible and wouldnt mind a small mpg increase as well. i really want to know if the parts i have chosen are good or if there is something else i should be considering for my needs.

also i cant buy the parts myself and have it installed for around $400-$500 so its less than half the price of the T1R exhaust i would rather have but dont have the money to spare
