Default Deception9's Superior LED Driving lights

so I have gotten a few PMs about my LED driving lights / day time running lights. I've seen the eBay ap2 lights for the brake duct and I was not impressed with the quality.

what I run is far superior to the eBay lights. I will say their price point is not lower, but if you want a real performance light you should check these out.

morimoto X.DRL is what they are called. they are sold by the retrofit source.com. they retail for around 80-90 bucks.

I have had these for a little over a year and I've run them in several different configurations. you do have to cut some of your bumper and they are not "plug and play".

they are made with a black anodized aluminum housing, fully potted with hard acrylic, and have 5 LEDs per side. the LEDs are high quality, name brand with aspheric lenses. these suckers are bright. while they don't have as many lumens as a headlight beam, they do get people's attention.

only down sides are minimal. y'all check them out and tell me what you think.

Looks good. Do you have a pic of how they look from the back with the bumper off?

I am curious if they woul fit my set up because my intercooler pipes are right behind where the lights would mount.

I like the look of the ebay ones better (housing and all). Plus for DRL, they shine bright enough.

Hey deception, how did you wire these up? I was thinking of something similar that would be wired to come on in the parking light position to use as DRLs so I can save my HIDs for actual night driving.

single pole single throw switch.

in your case, you could use a relay to power them with the parking lights then another to turn it off when the headlights get power.

mine are still running very strong. use them everyday. had an old lady the other day say she wished all cars my size had them, hahaha

bump,

had a few people on instagram PM me regarding these. Yes, i had to take off the front bumper. Yes, i had to cut the factory brake ducts in the front bumper open.

I've only had one LED fail out of all ten, five per fixture. I contacted TRS and they sent me a new pair of all blacks with no issues. I would recommend these to anyone.

I opted to go with COB LED lighting. They are very, very bright which may not be to the liking of a lot of folks. I have full brake ducts, front and rear. So, the bumper inlet option was not available to me.

They can be curved with patience but I opted for the simple straight bar install with DRL-like wiring. The relay in the wiring shuts off the DRL when the lights are on. I may put a switch into the power lead to give me the option to have them on when the lights are on but after 3 years with this setup I've not seen a need for it.
