Just curious as to whether or not you really noticed a difference after adding a strut bar? If so, feel free to mention what that difference was and which strut bar you used.

Bought my 03 New.Added the Neuspeed bar a few weeks later.Just a little ( 10% maybe) less front end roll.

As a general rule.I add the tower strut bars to all my cars.

yep, less body roll. if you want to tighten it up more with even less body roll, get a rear chassis bar. does wonders for this. the original is too flimsy and twists easily.

I like pancakes.

Can't tell what the bar does but it looks good in the engine bay!

It lightened my wallet and is a convenient place to "brace" yourself when working in the engine bay.

Get a stiffer front sway bar if you really want to feel a difference.

They are good for something to lean on but they do not add any stiffness. Look right under them at the brace already there.

I've had a few different front upper strut bars on this car, mostly because I like the look of them in the engine bay. I never felt any difference except with the ASM bar which I am currently running.

The ASM strut bar ties down to the steering rack with a lower X-brace. I did notice a difference in steering feel with that bar in place, which I do like. I can't say it handles better but I like how it feels. With the three or so basic strut bars that I've had I can't say that I felt any difference. I still like to have them for appearance and they are handy resting places when working on the engine.

At one of the weekly meets in town, shortly after I got my S a few years ago, I saw a strut bar in someone's engine and didn't know what it did. I asked the owner, and he said it was just for looks, didn't really do anything. I voted for pancakes.

Makes no difference in performance unless you get the ASM or similar as mentioned above. Is good for learning on it when working on the car. You're better off modifying your springs, shocks, or sway bar. You will feel a difference in performance at that point. I have a underbody front x brace (diGrappe) on mine. I only feel the difference when driven hard or on the track. They do looks nice though. No doubt.

Just to note, on most cars these sorts of bars make a very noticible and beneficial change. So it was only natural that vendors would assume the S was no different, so went and started applying their designs to a bar that would fit the S.

Only it turns out our cars are so stiff from the factory, a standard strut bar does little for our cars. At least in the front.
