Default DIY Front Splitter

Well Iv been on s2ki for 4 years now, even though my account doesn't say it.:-)
Installing an exhaust and slapping on wheels to make the S look good is all fun. But what can we physicality make with our own hands, instead of just buying this and that.

So this all started on random rainy day a two weeks ago at a buddy's house. I happened to see a front splitter going for $300 online from a very reputable company.
I thought to my self WHY THE HELL WOULD I PAY 300 FOR THIS???

%5 of us will functionally use a front splitter at the track.

So for the other %95 of us that like to add a little aggressive touch to the front end of the car ....THIS IS FOR YOU!

FYI the following cost around $20

Supplies
1. Long piece of acrylic quarter inch thick 24"x64"(home depot $10)
2. Any desirable paint you like(I used flat black $2)
3. 3M indoor/out door double sided tape(home depot $5)
4. Air powered cutting tool
5. Patientce

Steps
1. Take your time and first mark the desired shape.
2. Cut the piece as best as possible. (take your time doing this will pay off at the end)
3. Sand the edges to get a clean look.
4. Sand the acrylic so the spray paint can stick to it nicely.
5. Paint slowly again take your time don't rush.
6. Apply 3m double sided tape once dry.
7. Take a couple minutes holding it under the car, once you find it in the perfect position i.e left right front back. STICK IT ON

Your done!
enjoy your new semi aggressive splitter.
Again total cost will be $20
and 2-3 hours of work.

You have two options
A. Make a mold, oil up the inside, grab some fiber glass, 4 days later take it out, sand, paint, 4 days later, and still wont fit on

B. Grab your wallet, go to APR, buy one for $500 fail

I also did my own splitter but from a flexible plastic and used bolts to hold it on.
I'm just wondering if yours would hold at high speeds? The first one I made I used self tapping screws and at high speeds it ripped off.

I like the idea and think it looks good but I wouldn't trust double sided tape for something like that right on the front of the car. I'd strongly consider finding a way to bolt that thing on.
