Default DIY install for ebay Lip (request)

Is there a detailed DIY on exactly what I need to do to install this lip?

it's an ebay lip, so fitments not perfect. I hear alot of people mentioning the use of heat gun, but what exactly do i do? Does everybody have three people holding the lip, or is there a way to clamp it and put it into place?

Do you try fitment of the lip (with screws?) before painting or after painting? my lip came with rivets, and i don't know what to do with these.

I got quoted $300 for paint and install, but considering I spent $45 on the lip, it just doesn't seem worth it.

Help please?

I had mine painted and installed locally for $50, Its not the oem but the amuse style for the AP1. Originally he used epoxy glue and then two screws on the back by the wheels. when I got my car towed it scrapped coming off the bed and it came off. So I put it back using Lock tight double sided tape and is holding fine. The one 5' roll was just enough. It's a replica so fitment wasn't perfect but It came out well enough. We didn't heat up anything.

This is the tape I used, you can find it at home depot

i got mine from baysonr on ebay. its the AMS replica. it has 2 screws by the wheels and then 5 screws with very thin aluminum to attach it. the double sided tape that comes with it is lackluster so i would get some better stuff.

edit: mine was shipped in a way that it wasn't bent at all so there is no need for a heat gun. if its warm outside it probably wouldn't hurt to leave it out in the sun for a bit to help fit a little easier.

Why do these require double sided tape? Screws not enough?

you could do either or, its just a suggestion. I didn't use any screws this time, just the tape. Screws will usually be enough, but since some replicas don't fit perfectly, the tape ensures you will be as close to the bumper as possible and not have waves or gaps.

Or alternatively you can buy OEM weatherstripping for lips from HTG. Gives it a flush fitment..

So simple:
First off, thorw away that crap hardware that came with the lip.
2 screws on each side in the wheel wells into factory mounting points of bumber. 3m double side modling tape in the center of the lip to keep from sagging. Done
I buy these ebay oem style lips 2 at a time and get them painted for $100 for the pair. should take 20 min to install start to finish.
300 for paint and instal is crazy

dont forget to clean the areas where the tape will go, you would be surprised how many ppl forget and then say that the tape is crap because it came off lol, the cleaner the surface the better the hold.

I installed an OEM replica on my AP1. Fitment was pretty good. I used the screws (which are the same screws used to hold your shield on, btw) AND tape. Screws alone left a big gap, so I taped it with 3M trim panel something or other. Its held quite nicely for the past week or so, but idk if it will last too long. As for price? $300 to paint the LIP is outrageous. My guy is charging $260 to fill in the license plate holes, do some work on the bumper, and repaint the entire bumper. And I know for a fact he does quality work. If you would just have him paint the lip, I wouldnt go more than $100

Yeah, dont forget to do this. I used some really caustic stuff because the paint would be toast under the lip anyway..
