First of all, I would recomment not installing Sparco 4-pts. Or at least, not using them (show car, for instance). The risk of submarining is real. But I can't stop you.

Secondly, you really should have something solid to anchor the shoulder straps. They are designed to be used with a harness bar. There is nothing back there that I would trust to take the load that the 4-pts would provide. It's a matter of geometry and in which directions the roll support is loaded.

Thirdly, when using harnesses it's a really good idea to have higher roll protection. Even non-convertibles generally should have a roll bar when used with harnesses, but some folks are willing to just use a harness bar.

Anyway, all these decisions are up to you. I'll just remind you that you are playing with your safety here. The OEM system was designed by engineers to be as safe as they could reasonably make it. Be careful when choosing to mess around with it.

yea, what mikegarrison said. Following that, i would do the cusco bar. I think it has some "baller-status" to it too!!

PS. When I said I did not recommend Sparco 4-pts, that's not a dig at Sparco per se. I really wouldn't recommend any 4-pts. I do have harnesses in my car, and I used 6-pts. (5-pts don't work in S2000s because there is a box beam running under the floor down the centerline of the seats.)

I also have a roll bar welded in to the car, with a harness bar specifically designed and located to anchor the harness straps. And racing seats specifically designed to work with harnesses. It is important to consider these things as an overall safety system, not a bunch of separate components you can mix and match at will.
