Yo Rain, you're getting a sweet deal.

I also have an OEM w/o resonator, IMO if you run a straight pipe from the cat flange to the split (no helmholtz) the low tones are a little louder, especially < 1500 RPM.

I also cut off the acoustic / heat shields on the top of each muffler can to shed weight and better tone.

Please clarify this
The CR exhaust does not have the external loop on the backside of the muffler.

Thanks for the posts guys! I have taken alot of time to compare AP1 vs CR catbacks

They both weight approx 51 pounds.
They are also both 2.25 inner diameter before the split.
The split sections are approx 2 inch outer diameter
The exhaust tip piping it 2.25 inner diameter
The exhaust tips are interchangable (the fit on one another) Not direct fit but you could make it work.

I am going to stop by my uncle and see if hes up for a project. I want to strip this CR exhaust of teh resonator plus I want to gut the mufflers.

Ok here we go. Inside pictures of the CR catback mufflers. I ended up just cutting the baffles out and leaving it empty. I figure I wont have this exhaust all that long so the added time to properly weld in a pipe is not necessary, not to mention I'm not really after HP gains, just a little more noise...Which it is ALOT louder now.

So to answer my own question, are CR mufflers straight though? They are now

That is so funny. Those cans are a terrible design, yet they flow really well, and are quiet.
