Same as title. Does the CR catback exhaust have straight through mufflers or is it twin loop like an AP1/AP2?

I'm looking to modify the CR exhaust onto my AP1. I want to delete the resonator and the "T" in it. Plus put the stock AP1 tips on it.

 

It is not twin loop.

 

Does anybody have a picture to prove or maybe documentation?

 

there was a thread about it. search and you might find it, i can't. the CR mufflers don't have the loop part on the front side of the muffler like the regular s2000's do. i dont know about straight through, perhaps the internal muffler design is different, but the from what we know for sure, there is no U loop on the outside of the muffler

 

What is the reason for this mod?

There is no performance gain from the CR cat back and you can get an aggressive tone by just the resonator delete. The CR, and all OEM Honda exhausts are not straight through.

Also the AP1 tips will not bolt on to a CR, or any other AP2 OEM muffler without shortening the tailpipe.

 

It's a straight through design(non-twin loop). Saw it with my very own eyes on a stock CR.

 

No loops, not much power to gain, a slightly different tone.

 

excellent. Thank you guys. My friend is giving me his CR exhaust for free today, I just have to go pick it up. Im on a budget because I'm trying to buy a house. So I'm going to try and heavily modify the stock exhaust to flow a little better, although I do not expect it to change much. Thanks for the info about the tips not fitting. Ill have to come up with something to put the AP1 tips on the exhaust

 

Cool, since it's free! Let us know how this goes and record some sound clips! One thing though, that "T" is called the Heimholz (or something like that), I've read that it's not a good idea to get rid of that piece.

 

Please clarify this, so when you look into the tailpipe you can see right through to the inlet pipe of the muffler can?
