Default Dyno'ed my S today

Hi, so I finally got my S2000 on the dyno today.

I have a my00 with the following:

AEM V2 intake
OBX-R 74mm throttle body
Brian Crower Stage 2 cams
Titanium cam retainers
PLM exhaust manifold
70mm Test Pipe
T1R EM-70mm Dual
Haltech Platinum Plus ECU

Dyno HP was 222hp without tune, and 232hp with Haltech and tune.

What do you guys think about the numbers? I was hoping for more HP and got a little disappointed,

Max hp was at 8600rpm

It sounds good, but we don't know what the power level was before the mods, and what kind of dyno it was - Dynojet, Mustang, Dynapack etc... . That single number doesn't mean anything on it's own, dynos are for tuning purposes and only helpful if you can see the delta gain or loss related to mods. Do you know what a typical stock S2000 comparable to your year puts down on that dyno ?

Yup. What he said. Without a baseline stock the numbers don't mean anything at all unfortunately. What does a stock same model S2000 put down on that dyno? If you have a few stock nes to compare to on the same dyno same weather conditions etc that might help give you an idea of what sort of gains you've had.

You're right, so here goes some more info:

The dyno is a DYNO DYNAMICS 450DS AWD

As for stock run unfortunately I haven't made one, but I've seen some days ago a S with mugen style intake, Throttle body and full greedy exhaust making 235hp on the same dyno, and I have a friend with a my06 with PJM intake, Spoon Throttle body, full TODA exhaust, who made 245hp. He was the highest hp NA S2000 on this dyno!

I also have lightweight pullyes allaround and fidanza racing flywheel but I don't think they give any power, just faster reving engine.

For what I've been searching a stock my00 makes around 200hp, so I'me guessing around 30hp gains? I just thought with the stage 2 cams and standalone ecu I would get a little more!

Thanks for the comments

Sounds like a really high reading dyno. Looks like your parts must not be working so well together.

You probably did, most of it in the mid-range not the top end. I'd wager your 4-7k rpm curve is better than a stock S.

maybe the other engines were healthier than yours in stock form, you may have gained quite a bit (50+ hp ?) but we don't know your baseline.

Those numbers are respectable for your mods. You might be able to get a few more hp with some additional tuning but I would be surprised if it was much more.

Sounds like your Haltech is crap....... you should take it off and sell it to me for cheap!

I think those are respectable numbers on a Dyno Dynamics. I baseline'd completely stock on a Dyno Dynamics at 183.3 HP, and on the same dyno with K&N FIPK, PLM header, Berk 70mm HFC, Invidia Q300 dual, and a crappy VAFC tune at 205.5 HP. I would assume the cams, test pipe, and the fact that you have a REAL ecu to tune with would attribute to your extra ~27 HP. It all seems reasonable to me.

And I mean, 232 HP on a Dyno Dynamics is like, what... 354 HP on a DynoJet?

Keep in mind that the 2.2L in your friend's 2006 puts out more power stock than a 2.0L. Pretty typical to see a 15 peak HP difference between those motors, not even counting the difference in mid-range power.
