E85 MPG
riceball777,
how did you connect the zetronic gauge?
Im running flex fuel also on aemv2 for my KW kit. i using the sos e85 sensor kit..
right now i can only check my ethanol content by logging into the ems. i would really want to a have gauge like yours.

E85 is truly a gift from the car gods. As well as a flex fuel tune.
Back in the day 400-500whp was the limit for standard 91octabe and a well build turbo 4 cylinder. If you wanted more power you needed to retune for high octane race fuel like c16/q16 which is good for 500-1000+whp. Race fuel can't be pumped at a gas station and it's like $15 a gallon. So this was saved for rare ocations for the track and was unrealistic for the street use.
Now we have e85. It can be pumped into our cars from normal gas stations. It gets 30% worst fuel economy but it's about 20-25% Cheeper than 91octane, so it's really only cost 5-10% more than 91octane. But it can make almost as much power as c16. E85 is good for over 1000whp. And the best thing is I have a single flex fuel tune on my aem ems. This means I can run any amount of mix with e85 or 91 octane and the ecu will automatically raise or lower timing and raise and lower boost depending on how much ethanol is in the tank. It's such a beautiful thing. If I want 450whp I can just pump 100%91 octane. If I want 700whp I just pump 100%e85. Or I can run 50%e85 and 50%91octane for e50 and I can have 500-600ish whp. No more swaping maps. No more draining the tank to change fuels. No more worrying than I'm running out of e85 with no e85 station close by.
With e85 and flex fuel. It's a good time to have a high power turbo car.

cool that all i need to know, tap into the signal wire.
i need to check if they sell the gauge only, cause i already have the sensors and everything wired up.
It's quite Waite up. The flex fuel sensor only has 3 wires. (Power, ground and signal wire). The signal wire goes to the d connector of the aem ems so the ecu can know the ethonol content. Just t the signal wire to the zextronix gauge for the gauge to work. The gauge also only has 3 wire. (Power, ground and signal input. )

So what are you guys doing if you get a low batch of E85? Are you just letting the computer work it out or are you opening up your laptops and changing for the lower or higher ethanol content?
I have a aem infinity, and I'm in the process of going e85, just waiting on my parts to get here, I haven't really looked into the flexfuel tunning capabilities yet, but would I need a flexfuel sensor, like the SOS kit, before I can utilize the aem infinity flex tune. Thanks
