You are correct.

It still doesn't change the fact that those projectors in those headlights have crap spread, and that's the only thing I've said...

Let see...OEM $500 e/c or $310 for both headlights....I think $310 sounds better NO BRAINER!!
This

Or

Notice how the OEM headlights cover a much wider area, seem to cover a longer distance, AND have a consistent amount of light (more or less) over the entire area instead of being almost useless in some areas and blindingly bright (useless) in others?

I'm not trying to be an ass to the OP, but the FACT is simply that the beam pattern SUCKS. If you're fine with a product that performs poorly at its sole purpose to save some money or because you prefer the aesthetics, great. It doesn't change the fact that these are not great headlights in regards to improving visibility at night. There are options because people have different opinions or standards, but I'd much rather pay 3x as much for something that does a great job at what it's supposed to do, especially when it's an item that is more of a safety feature than anything.

Perfect post dude. I'd never, ever, buy these. I'd beg, borrow or steal before I degraded my lighting like this.

I'm going to have to agree. Actually unless you are doing a truly custom headlight projector retrofit, you can't beat the optical output of an S2000 projector. It is arguably the best low beam projector on the market right now (SC430 is also exceptional).

The only thing that would prove to actually increase the light output on an OEM S2000 projector is a truly clear lens and a custom shield. You can buy clear lenses from "theretrofitsource.com" and space them out using washers to get a nice crisp blue cut off line. The custom shield, if designed right will actually make the beam pattern wider and release more light onto the road however it takes a hell of a lot of work and hours of testing to get right.

Yes, Honda/Acura has kind of lagged as far as releasing cars with HIDs, but when they do they typically do a pretty awesome job. OEMs invest a bit of money into making sure their headlights do their job. Aftermarket invest little to no money. To reiterate a 3rd or 4th time OP, I'm not knocking your preference, just showing how poorly these headlights perform as a light producer, and judging by how poorly they're aimed I am not confident that oncoming traffic would approve of them. You may want to consider retrofitting some quality OEM projectors. You can have the looks you prefer and you'd still come out cheaper than buying OEM headlights...

A good friend of mine bought ebay lights for his merc because his old ones were crap, an 03 s55. He bought a set that replicates the stock headlights.

The ebay lights look great and for some reason has a better beam than his old projectors, but they are absolute crap compared to our s2ks. The beam pattern is narrow and has its hotspots and deadspots. I didn't realize how great our projectors were compared to even like a brand like Mercedes on their top end model when he has his old projectors in. I even compared it to another 07' s-class and our lights are much brighter and have a wider beam.

As for OP, your lights look awesome. Gives the car a newer look, for some reason kind of reminds me of the headlights on a Porsche CGT, but the beam pattern is pretty weak. It's good to hear you are enjoying your lights, and they look great, but it doesn't beat OEM imo.

i like the look of the OP's lights but the beam pattern compared 2 the OEM S2k lights are in no contest. s2k's have the best beam pattern. i think it even beats the fancy bmw ones that move (adaptive lights)
