Most of them do not have any innards. Most are strictly a test pipe. Most even say high flow cat/ off road pipe which is the same as test pipe. Maybe a few are actually cats but the majority are test pipes only.

Exactly. I am all for saving money but you will not find a true high flow cat on ebay for $50 - it's a resonated test pipe and nothing more. If that is all you need and don't care about actually having a functioning cat, then go for it.

Ding ding ding! People aren't upset because they spent money on actual good parts, but 95% of these ebay "high flow cats" are simply resonated test pipes, they say high flow cat in the title even, which isn't true.

Just looked for the S2000, you guys are right about the s2000 "high flow cats" being test pipes on ebay. You can however purchase a universal high flow for 100 bucks and have your local exhaust shop weld the flanges on for another 30-50, if u are looking to save 100 bucks or so.

All in all, the Berk isnt too bad of a deal tho

True story, you can always order a magnaflow HFC and have any shop throw it in.

If I were to ever do a HFC though, I would do asura or berk.

They are highflow cats, most of them at least. I have purchased several for many different cars over the years.

Here again the ignorant bashing goes on from all the saps upset that they spent too much money on a simple part.

YOU BOUGHT A NAME TAG! GET OVER IT

Ebay highflow cats are usually fine, buy from a reputable vendor that stands behind what he is selling. If you get a CEL or dont think its doing its job properly they will let you exchange or return it.
true.. it like buying a nike shoe and payless shoe. nike is nicer and is a popular name but both shoes serve the same purpose

No it's not. The ebay ones are test pipes and the real ones are high flow cats so it's completely different.

Why does one need a HFC?..

Just throw on the TP and if you need to go get emissions, throw on your cat..

or just get a HFC and get flanges welded on it.
HFC is $100.
flanges and welding cant be more than $50.

What's the point of shelling out $250 for a name brand HFC? what do they do better that a magnaflow or any other HFC can't?
