What would be at risk?

I don't see what's wrong with it. I have an oil cap I got off ebay with a Mugen insert in it and it screwed on fine, and has an O ring all the way around the cap so it does seal nicely. I've had it for a while on my daily S with no problems. Just go for it!

I'm not knocking the source, but if I'm seeing it right it looks like it could be hard to remove. I don't see much to grab onto to unscrew it, it looks too smooth from what I can see unless I'm not seeing it properly. When the metal caps get hot and cool cycles they can be hard to remove. It helps to have some grip on the cap so you can get some torque on it when it comes time to open it up.

Very true, at least it would be harder to steal at a show when my hood is up

yup it will be hard to steal for sure. I've literally used blocks off wood and a hammer to remove some aftermarket metal oil caps that weren't even put on very tight initially.

Yeah even the stock one can be a pain to remove when hot with the grip and all. Would like an after market one for my S but worried about it being a major paint to remove.
