Default To ecu or not to ecu?

I've got an AEM V2 induction kit installed on an AP1. I've also got an Amuse dual Extra W exhaust and a Tracy Sport TS02 header on the way. Gonna be adding a J's racing decat pipe too. Now my question is whether I should do something to optimize all these or would it be a waste of money? Not interested in f/i. I am interested in making the engine run as smooth as possible as well as gaining some torque and power. Would a VAFC do the job? An ecu from Amuse, Mugen etc? Or go down the route of Hondata, AEM or Motec? I'm sorry in advance if I'm kinda rehashing old ground!

I would just go with the vafc2, cheap, easy to use, and gets good gains on early ap1s especially if you have mods already. I gained 8whp with mine, and there was room for more just ran out of time.
