Mine don't tangle. You are supposed to use some thread lock so the motor doesn't wind itself up in the cords...

so have these motors been designed with you buying extra suspension parts from Tein...to stop the motors from ravelling?

I have the Tien Flex RS with EDFC.. my current strut bar is the Spoon STB. works fine. the motors don't move and they aren't supposed to move. I'm not sure what you guys are talking about, but nothing is supposed to move once things are installed, so nothing should get tangled up!

however, i'm going for a blue/gold engine bay scheme, so i want to get thsi bar http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-3996169...6_2063_6465869

and for this to fit with the EDFC, you can install the bar, then the motors, or you can cut the bar's mounts into a C shape, like Spoons (http://media.photobucket.com/image/S...utBarSet-2.jpg)

then you won't have a problem mounting the bar. in fact, you can cut any flat bracket mounted STB to be like Spoon's and then it can fit with the EDFC

As I said, the bracket was designed for strut systems.

I used to have on my previous S2000 the EDFC with the J's Racing strut bar. No fitments issue. Actually I remember the rubber part was touching a part of the strut and that was used as a stopper which was really good.

Here is a photo. It clears just fine.

I have the same setup (new EDFC black motors and Spoon strutbar)...fits perfectly

I do however know what some of you are talking about in regards to the motors turning...my dad and I figured it out (he has been on the phone w/Tein and they actually were making him brackets until it solved itself after a simple tire change)

when your tires start to wear for some reason the motors tend to loosen up...I know it sounds really goofy but I went through the same thing...sure enough when my tires were worn last fall the wires attached to the motors would be in different places at times...you could actually spin the motors by hand without much effort...after the tire change however they went back to being as tight and unmovable as when they were first installed

my best advice for this is check your tires and if it looks like they're worn and that you're due or almost due for tires, then I'm 95% sure that you have your answer

anyway...to get back to the strutbar fittment I would say w/out knowing how much bigger the older motors are the the new black ones, that the Spoon strutbar uses C mounts and does sit further forward the most strutbar and this should give you a little more clearance

If you can spin the motor by hand, then you don't have it mounted right.

I've got through many sets of tires (60k+ miles) since installing my EDFCs and they have never turned.

well mine were installed professionally and I can tell you that w/tire wear they can turn...not saying the always will but that has been my experience...on a hard drive w/worn tires they had a tendency to be looser
