Default Effectiveness of Engine Heat Shields? - Moddiction + Gladman

Just wondering if anyone's ever actually tested the following two products and have noticed any real improvements in intake temperatures:

http://moddiction.com/moddiction/hon...i-1797447.aspx
http://gladfab.myshopify.com/collect...te-heat-shield

I love the looks aesthetically, especially the Gladman version, but I just wonder about their overall effectiveness.

Would appreciate any feedback/experiences.

They separate the engine bay into 2 parts, one part is hot as holy hell, the second part is within a hair of being hot as holy hell. I think they might help to reduce radiating heat, but not much in terms of air temps. I went with a vented hood, I think that has more positive effect on underhood heat.

You get front downforce with the hood, too.

I think if anything it would help to lengthen the durability of other engine components by reducing the temperature of the environment.

Very true , in most cases front downforce with no drag with the right design.
