Yes you're right.
I will try to bleed it again this Saturday.
I'll try the nose-up method this time.

Re plugs, I just bought the iridium 1-step-colder ones from eBay, hopefully they'll be here by Saturday; I'll replace them and I'll check what the old ones look like.

Ps: this is what they looked like about a year ago, when I bought it:

The pics are at the bottom of the thread.
And yes, it still takes about two seconds to start.

Pictures of your plugs from a year ago, have nothing to do with the way they'd look right now. Have you even pulled them after this happened?

Those plugs look fine.

Just add a gallon of race gas to each tankful and the low speed pinging will go away. That's what I did.

oh, and i did find techron at the local chevron agent ...
just one problem ..

he only had ONE last bottle of it. he said that the Techron concentrate is now phased out, and they changed the name to Texaco Havoline Gasoline fuel system cleaner.
Is this true?
I bought the techron concentrate and one of these texaco thingies.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

On the texaco one, it just says to pour it into the fuel tank.
On the techron concentrate, it says to pour it into an empty tank, and fill up the tank with petrol.

But on the last bottle i used (fuchs), it recommended to be used with a near-empty tank of petrol, so that it would be highly concentrated.
what is the best way to use this?

mmm ok. but i had already bought the BKR8EIX, they're on the way. Will I still benefit from using them?

And can anyone confirm that the techron is best used as described?
ie. pour it all in an empty tank, then fill tank with fuel, then use fuel?
or should i fill up just half of the tank? or a quarter? to have it really concentrated?

thanks

You should still install the colder plugs. Use the Techron as directed on the bottle. Just don't exceed the amount of fuel that it says it will treat. I like to buy the bottles that say "Treats up to 20 gallons", then I use it for my 13 gallon tank. Then I will do the same for the next fillup.
