Default Exhaust - undecided

I've been using the search and reading a lot of your reviews, but could use some advice on both intake and exhaust for my recently purchased 2003 S2K.

The car is bone stock now, and I'm interested in improved intake and exhaust. I've seen over 9 exhausts mentioned here, so I'm looking for some help in narrowing it down to one.

I'd like the intake and exhaust to be a good compliment to each other. I'm not interested in a loud exhaust, especially the tuner-sounding, megaphone sound. I'm interested in a horsepower gain - a little louder is OK, but the emphasis is NOT on being loud, it

I guess I can shed some light I've learned while being here: sadly enough, most of the LOUD exhausts are the best power makers. A single 70mm exhaust is going to be your best bet for the most power, but also going to be one of the loudest. Of course, there are the T1R 70em systems, which make very good power and are quiet, but are in the price range of $1000+. Also, a test pipe is going to add to that power greatly when matched with a good exhaust.

As far as intakes, alot of people are all about them... personally, I'm not sold on them. Alot of guys get a drop in K&N Filter for the stock airbox, and get a snorkel (search) or a cooling plate that feeds to airbox.

Another thing to maybe help us help you out would be your allotted budget. Depends on what you have to spend to get what you want. I'm sure others are going to chime in soon.

ASM 70mm single, T1R-EM 70mm, Asura and Greddy Ti-C 70mm single are relatively quiet and makes decent power, IMO.

Don't expect to see any big HP gains. I have and intake, header, test pipe and exhaust and there isn't a huge difference in HP. To get the most out of the bolt on's you will want to get some kind of tuning done.
