my car has an easy-on top and its been perfectly fine, they seem to get a bad wrap from people and its mostly because theyve done their own install and it didnt come out right. This is actually my 2nd top now due to someone smashing my rear glass. if money isnt an issue id say go robbins but if you want a good replacement top thats not gonna break the bank the easy on will do just that.

EZ ON TOP fits really well. For the prize, you can't beat it.

no matter which top you get, buy some UGlu black fabric tape to reinforce the wear areas on the soft top. There are two spots where people tend to get holes in their soft tops, nears the back due to the way the frame rubs on the canvas.

$7 on Amazon.com w/ free shipping.

I've been looking for a new top as well and ran into a seller on eBay selling a top by Germanex. Has anyone heard of these guys?

I replaced my OEM top on a MY2001 with a $650 Robbins burgundy top and it fits well. The dealer quoted me $2000 for the OEM plus another $2000 to install it Ouch!!! Either the Robbins or Easy-On fabric top is the way to go. Once it's installed use 303 or Raggtopp fabric protectant. It makes the water bead and run off nicely.

Right. As with any other discussion forum, you'll get people promoting whatever they happened to purchase.

The closest I've seen to a meaningful recommendation was from a guy who I think worked in an upholstery shop who recommended GAHH or Electron. IIRC they both have long warranties but Electron reinforces the wear spots. They're both much costlier options though.

I've heard that topsonline.com is a good place to buy them.
