FIDANZa flywheel
Perhaps apples and oranges, but I had one on my STI and loved it. I had zero problems with it either mechanically or with drivability. The drivetrain in those cars is pretty loud anyways, so I never really noticed an increase in NVH from it. I plan on going with one again when it's time for a new clutch on the S2k. The replaceable friction plate is a nice bonus too.
boys, cheers for the input.
thats good to know!! im stoked..
i decided that i will get the flywheel balanced and then again with the PP bolted to it.
yeah i dont mind noise because its loud... buy vibration is the enemy!! thats when things start to come loose and create problems... and i dont want stuff coming loose at 9000 rpm.... that prob would be a shit experience.
anyone feel free to give me your opinion.
im all ears..
cheers again!

The flywheel and pressure plate should be balanced already. Honestly,
The only reason why I think people would have problems with chatter would be if they use agressive friction disks / pressure plates, or if they overheat the flywheel with "poor" driving habits.

weill i have an exedy sports tuff clutch going in. its not super aggressive... about 30-40% more clamping power than stock.
nothing over the top. the think is people are having problems when they first put it in... and when your foot is off the clutch, the friction disk is now clamped in place, so how would it cause chatter.
i can understand off take off but not as soon as u back off the throttle.
that to me seems like balance issues..
the other thing is everyone, i tool my flywheel to get balanced with the PP and the guy goes "it doesnt look like these are balanced, there are no markings for weight reduction, nothing....."
he said because ther are done on CNC lathes, they come out almost perfect, so there could be a good chance that they either check every 10 for balance or when they check, they think it may be good enough to pass.
hes going to make it perfect n let me know if it was out a bit or at all.... said this could be reason for chatter, coz it not perfect.
cost me $60 AUS to get it done......ii rather do it now than after its in the car then i gotta pull it out to get it checked...
that would break my nuts...... and back pocket!
thanks guys

I have a lightened chromoly flywheel.. I don't know why people actually want aluminum flywheels? Aluminum is extremely brittle so if you drive it wrong and burn the crap out of it, i'm pretty certain the result would be way more catastrophic than a steel wheel. Chromoly > aluminum, my opinion.
shit........... lol
i dont ride clutch but i know no matter what you do, on the track they get bloody hot.... Not burning temp but quite on the warm side...
i contacted fidanza, they claim "i havent heard any complaints and im sure it will deal with track use fine"........ hmmmm
we'll c......
if it fkn blows n breaks my shit, ill be pissed! lol
you cant advertise RACING high performance flywheel if it cant handle s**t. thats BS.
well ill run it in then thrash her, n c how she goes...
cheers ikeyballz.
