Default Final Drive?

It seems like the best bang for the money, but which one is the better one to go with, i do mostly city driving but about once a week hop on the highway but never drive more than 2 hours on the highway. my car is stock right now but i do want to do an intake, headers.

Before you decide on which ratio to go with, I suggest you post in your local forum and see if you can test drive an S with one. I say this because gears aren't for everyone. Some owners of the gears found that they weren't worth the money.

i changed out the intake because the stock box was busted up. the bottleneck on the exhaust side was the cat so i got the high flow cat ($250) versus a grand for header that gains similar hp.

i'd vote for 4.77s and i'm sure somebody in florida has that gear ratio for you to sample...

Test pipe > high flow cat. Cheaper, more power, and no CEL with berk.

Anyways we can get into another discussion about which gear is best and what not. IMO gears dont really help that much. Maybe in DD city driving 4.77's would be awesome off the line. But once you get rolling they wont really out accelerate any other s2k.

Check out the graph that compares a 4.10 s2k vs all the other gears. If you notice after the launch they maintain the same distance apart from each other. The aftermarket gears dont keep pulling after the launch. Theyre about even the whole way till the 1/4 mile. So on a track, or a race from a roll it would completely be a drivers race.

If you just want to be faster from stop light to stop light then 4.77s are the way to go. But if your looking to just be faster in general then look elsewhere.
