Heat builds in a bubble around you when you aren't moving. Have you tried blipping the throttle to "clear the throat" as it were of the intake before you take off?

I just installed the combo on my CR and the sound is great and throttle response has improved. Still need to put the test pipe and exhaust on and have flash pro tuned to get rid of the rev hang. I like the intake combo no heat soak issues yet and I am in Florida also.

Has anyone ever used a snorkel with a FIPK,i think that would provide more fresh air than the AUT but its not gonna look as nice as the AUT though.
A snorkel is like holding a straw out the window while you drive to ensure air gets to the other end - the air is already being directed, so why add a part that doesn't add to that functionality?
With a FIPK (or stock airbox), all a snorkel is doing is sitting in the path the air takes anyway - it really has no benefit over not being there. Its redundant imo, plus with a cooling plate, it negates any extra pos pressure that builds up under the cooling plate because it blocks it from the air box.
I dont know each to their own and i respect everyones opinion but i know that my snorkel with the OEM airbox works,at least it feels better than stock/nothing channeling the air!

I agree with Saki GT, an AUT plate is much more ideal than a snorkel.
