Default Fipk installed - lost power

I installed the k&n fipk this morning and just got around to taking the car out for a spin. It seems that when I hit vtec, the car doesn't pull as it used to with the stock airbox. Is there something I need to reset something to get the computer to readjust? Or am I just retarded?

I'm running bone stock with the exception of the fipk

Don't know what to say, i felt my car pulled harder after the fipk. Go do a dyno.

Do you have everything hooked up right? maybe your IAT sensor broke?

Let the ECU learn; I never ran a FIPK, but I do have a CAI and the power was felt immediately. Best mod i've done, along with a single exhaust; moreover my gas mileage has gone up significantly after installing an aftermarket intake system.

i'd unplug the battery and then plug it back. the ecu will reset and will re-learn the new air flow pattern, give it some time to adjust though...

Vtec engagement may feel less powerful as the car maybe making more power now with the FIPK before engagement, therefore the engagement doesn't feel as abrupt. Hows the intake sound BTW?

That's good to hear. Do you have numbers?

Anyone else got better MPG with an aftermarket intake??

It's all in your head. I doubt you can feel your car go faster or slower with just one mod.
