Default First intake mod that feels good

I have tried a couple intake mods (mods to the stock box) and ended up going back to stock as they seemed to have no gain or even slight drop in power. I feel this one has helped to get fresh air to the intake. Since the mod, I no longer feel slow after filling the tank (and better with less gas). This will likely not prevent heat soak as it should only be effective while moving.
I do not have a/c, so the effects might not be as great for those that do. All I did is cut a small part of the foam out (on top of radiator, which should let fresh high pressure air in) and insulated a bit. In second pic, you can see straight to the front grill through the hole where the foam was.

I have no opinion on your mod but will accept that maybe it does work. I think you should at least cover that hole with some window screen to avoid trash from blowing into the engine bay.

looks good; have you done the throttle body coolant bypass mod? it helped a bit with the heatsoak.

now once in a real hot day ill still have bogging at stop lights... just a blip of the throttle before leaving the light and its all good.

i have the Ztec CF Heatshield, throttle body coolant bypass (ball bearing edition), windshield heatshield material in the rear wall of the stock air box, inner part of airbox lid covered in reflective/insulation tape and the stock plastic where the ac filter is has some extra holes in it.

need to get me a scoop of some sort.

now on cold days... yep my car is totally different!

Guys with snorkles find only a little more crap in their intake box. This, while likely being less effective, will also be less effective at funneling crap into the intake.
I'll wait to see what I find in there.

Nope. I have not tried the coolant bypass mod yet.

Why not just get a snorkel? That is just like a poorer performing version it seems.

The snorkels that fit under a non-modded hood seem too thin.

Haven't you read how our econmy is doing, the man is doing this Macguyver status , I give a for simplicity. I personally do like like the thiness of the Snorkel where it bends. Doesn't seem like much air flows threw there, compared to with it off.
