They grease up the seals at the rear, then one guy pushes it down while the other tightens the bolts

I also get that loud racket every time I go over bumps haha

Mine creaked like an old door whenever the car was rolling, bumps or not, when I had the top tightened down with someone pushing on it. I retightened it with the top just resting on the car and no more creaking. Looks the same from the outside gap-wise, but as others have mentioned, getting the areas behind your shoulder sealed is tough as hell. Still squeaks a little over really uneven surfaces like driveway entrances, but nothing to lose sleep over.

The shin etsu (or however it is spelled) grease worked wonders for me. I've noticed my wind noise went from none in the winter to lots during the summer. I'm assuming its because the top softens up a bit in the heat (I'm talking 100+). Bought some new hardtop brackets for the front tha I'm going to try. 2 sets of shims wasn't enough.

Point is, it's going to take some fiddling to get your top perfect.

Yeah the top is very temperature dependent. When its hot and my car's been sitting out side, I get no creaking. When its cold, its gets really bad.
