Default Front bump steer kit problem

The 12mm front bsk I am attempting to install doesn't seem to fit right. When I put the bsk kit under the steering rack, I can't slide the rack back far enough to to line up the holes on the driver's side. I can force it, but the rack won't be equally mounted on the sub frame. Is there something in the way Im not seeing? I loosened and moved the radiator clamp out of the way. It seems like the steering shaft is too long to allow the rack to slide back once raised by the bsk.

Any ideas?

There's a joint further up the shaft. You can loosen it and this will allow you to move the shaft a little further backwards or forwards. I had to loosen mine to get my spacers in as well, IIRC. It's been a few years.

This article doesn't mention it but it's a nice DIY and you can see if there's anything else you may be missing
