Well played but I'm sure the engineers at Mitsubishi (Evo, Starion), Subaru (STi 22B), Dodge (Viper), Aston Martin (Vantage V12, DBS, One-77), Honda (Mugen Civic Type-R), Buick (Grand National), Jaguar (XKR, XJR), Mercedes (SL63 AMG Black), Toyota (Celica All-Trac), Prodrive (P2) but I'm sure and just a few others may care to differ.

Not sure what you're trying to compare to those cars. I don't know of any production vehicle that has an air passage intended to transfer air into the engine compartment without going through a radiator or intercooler. In fact, every late model car I've owned has had weatherstripping around the hood to make it as air tight as possible.

the short answer is it will cause drag and reduce the radiators efficiency - open the hood and see where those vents would lead right into the radiator and there is already a very good ducting built in to manage airflow otherwise you will cause buffeting and drag.
