Default Fujita Install and Initial Impressions

After a month long wait for my intake to come in (due to waiting for it to come back from powdercoating because I ordered gunmetal), I finally got to install it this morning. Overall, the installation directions are very good and clear. It took me about 4 hours because I ran into some problems that took me about an extra hour probably. For all those with a Cusco strut bar, make a decision now whether you want the strut bar or the intake because you can't have both lol My install time got delayed because I had to put the car on jackstands (which is a pain because my car sits too low to get my floor jack under lol) and then remove my strut bar (which is up for sale or trade now). Aside from that, the install went smooth with no major issues.

My initial impressions are that it sounds GREAT. From about 4k on it gives it a MUCH more throaty sound and it really screams in VTEC. It may actually be too loud for some because it is way louder than my T1R exhaust lol. The butt dyno says that throttle response is better and it will be a great intake once I get my header and a tune.

On a side note, I would highly recommend f5air.com. Their price was right and their customer service was top-notch. They answered all questions I had and responded to my emails VERY quickly.

Here's a couple of pics from the install:

Unless I get transferred back home later. I'll actually be moving to Durham, NC in June and plan to be there for at least a year or two

Did that intake require you to do some cutting to fit?

Yes, there is a very small piece of plastic liner that has to be cut. It's not a lot but, unless you feel comfortable driving without that piece of undertray, then it has to be cut
