i agree with weight and sound but not looks, at least for ap2. ap2 stock bumper and exhaust tips flow very well and people are surprised when i tell them it's stock. most exhaust systems doesn't look as good either.

Don't think I've seen an exhaust on the AP2 that looks better than stock, IMO.

An exhaust will reduce weight, make your car look more aggressive, and provide more sound.
THANK YOU for properly stating that!!!

-> OP notice there is no mention of added power here.

if ya wanna be different with your exhaust paint your stock exhaust like i did

^that actually looks pretty good but maybe better if the tips were a little bigger. it reminds me of how bmw's are doing their "performance" exhaust tips now...in shiny black. what did you use to do that? just regular spray paint?

Buy the one you think sounds the best. As others said before, that's pretty much what you're getting. Some of the intakes really do sound great. I had a Comptech and loved the sound.

If you're staying pretty stock, the weight reduction with an aftermarket exhaust really doesn't net anything in the real world. Yes, the oem exhaust is heavy. But the weight is very low and at the rear of the car.

Thanks guys for the suggestions! I'm actually really strongly considering the buddyclub prospec exhaust.. it's not that loud, it has a really nice throaty tone, and it's not THAT pricey! Thanks, once again.

If I were you I'd buy a Flashpro with that money. You will get a better gain and the car will be more fun to drive. I guess I just don't see a point in buying exhaust for these cars until after you've gone with forced induction.

One thing you should keep in mind with your s2000 is that bolt-ons will not yeild you big gains without the proper tuning.
Finally someone with some brains around here.

The intake and exhaust are both well designed for what they are. This however doesn't mean that they can't be improved. A big exhaust is a no brainer, sense everything after the collector is a restriction. I have a 3" manifold back untuned and WOW was their an increase in power EVERYWHERE.

I also believe the OEM intake to be restrictive. In my eyes the restriction isn't the pipe, filter or box, but rather the small opening in the box. This small opening will effectively "choke" a high revving motor. This choking will get worse with a big exhaust, cams ect. This is for the most part my opinion though, sense I have no proof to back it up. I really need to get an EMS and do some testing.

^do you really think that honda engineers just designed the intake box without giving it any thought? sure there had to be a balance between noise and power, but it's been shown that even with the intake lid off you don't gain anything except noise. (and people say you might lose power off the start due to heat choke even)

not trying to get at you but i really don't think the stock intake/exhausts are choking the car...especially since the car is tuned so well from the factory and there's little room for improvement unless you go FI.
