Getting the S2000 into 370z territory?

The S2000 vs. 350Z was a toss-up. The later 350Z versions were a bit quicker, but still felt heavy and weren't as fun to drive as the S2000.
The 370Z is smaller and lighter along with 332hp. It's running low 13's @ 105mph and pulls 0.99g on the skidpad with 71-72mph passes through the slalom.
Since it doesn't look like Honda is going to give us a replacement to the S2000 anytime soon, what does the S2000 need to keep up with the times?
For acceleration, a bolt-on supercharger will put us ahead of the 370Z. A clutch and differential upgrade will ensure reliability. What all would be needed if I wanted to stay N/A?
What is needed to improve skidpad and slalom numbers? I'm not familiar with suspension mods. I know the S2000CR puts up similar numbers. Is it due to the RE070s instead of the RE050s? What can be done to a regular S2000 that will improve the handling to this level or above? Are there any coilovers with handling as top priority?
We're still 400-500lbs lighter, so it seems like it'd be easier to make the S2000 handle than the 370Z.
I expect some criticism for worrying about mag. stats, but it bothers me to know that we're falling behind so far. I originally bought the S2000 to hold me over until I could pick up a C6 Corvette, but the driving experience along with personal experiences from others saying that the S2000 is more fun to drive than Corvettes, Boxster S's, etc makes me wonder what is required to simply bring the S2000 up to a higher performance level.

You can probably get the S up to around 280whp NA if you have anough money put into it. But if you want higher you're gonna need forced induction. The s2k is a great handling cars from the factory so it shouldn't be too difficult to make it outhandle the 370z. And then just gut the car for lighter weight

Honestly, from being on here for a good bit of time now, you'll spend WAY to much money on an all out N/A car. I think the J's racing car made JUST over 300rwhp. To get anywhere near that you're gonna need a stroker, ITB's, EMS etc.... Plus, you'd loose a good bit of drivability on a day to day basis. With that amount of money spent you could be well over 400rwhp with a F/I kit (i.e. Inline Pro) and could build off of that when your ready to make more power.
It shouldn't bother you that we are "falling so far behind". The S2000 viritually has not change in performance charactoristics for the entire time its been out. Give it some credit to still put up a fight after 8+ years.

you will not even come close to the torque of a 370z without a high compression stroker kit and gears. Its hard to compare 3.7 liters of muscle to the high strung engines we were endowed with. To be honest they are completely different animals.
