Default Greddy cat back install?

hey guys, I just purchased a greddy ti-c dual cat back. I know it says it requires ap1 hangers but I have heard of people using ap2 hangers turned sideways. Does anyone have experience with this?

Also, I have limited mechanical knowledge and skills but I'm not familiar with the s2000 exhaust system. Is an aftermarket cat back install simply a bolt-on or is welding required? Please advise, thanks!

I'm buying 2 muffler hangers because the ap2 has triangle shaped ones (works but alignment is a little weird). You need the regular 9.5mm oval shaped ones should cost 5 to 10bucks.

The stock exhaust is one piece from the cat. Take off 3 nuts on the cat, drop the rear tie bar in 3 bolts, spray the bushings with wd40 and pull the exhaust off the hooks. You can probably install the greddy assembled in one piece. On a lift it would take 30minutes to install. On ramps maybe an hour.

Could you point me in the right direction to buy the ap1 hangers then? Thanks for the info!

Well the easiest place is to get them from honda...could probably steal one off a civic or integra. The ap1 bushing is standard, its the ap2 bushing that is different. Aftermarket t1r hangers, apexi

Well, change of plans. Greddy was backordered everywhere and I need this soon so I bought an Invidia v3 off a forum member in the marketplace. Any difference on the install process? Also, do I need aftermarket gaskets or anything in order to install an aftermarket cat? Sorry but I really know nothing about exhaust system mechanics.

you can use the oem ap2 hangers, dont worry. I used them with my invidia. If it didnt come with gaskets you need one for the cat to mid-pipe, as well as the y-split to the mid-pipe. Install is super easy and even on jack-stands it should only take you 30 min. Be careful dropping the oem exhaust, its heavy!
