Default HAMP oil filter question...

Hello,

I recently did an oil change with the HAMP filter. Funny how everyone raves it is JDM, but on the box, it says "MADE IN USA". So that got me wondering, if we are just buying repackaged USDM filters? and if that is the case, what company makes the same hamp filter in the states? It would be cheaper to buy from the states than getting it shipped all the way from japan...

Any thoughts?

here is the pic of the box.

The thought of shipping a $3 product from the USA to Japan and back makes me glad I buy Purolator PureOne filters. They are made in the USA and are probably the most used filter by BITOG forum members. I thought the HAMP filters were made by Toyo Roki Mfg. Co., the same Japanese company that makes the oversized S2000 filters you used to be able to buy from the dealer.

Can you cut open the filter and post pictures when you are done with it?

The OP's HAMP box looks a bit longer and thinner that all the HAMP boxes that I have had. Could be the wrong filter

Hamps are made in both US and Japan. Fram makes the ones made in USA. I am really careful about which one I buy. If their made in US I dont bother with it.
