Default hard top mounting plate question

so i bought a VIS mugen HT replica and still havent gotten around to installing it. while i was looking at the mounting brackets the other day i started to wonder if anyone makes a two piece styled mounting bracket for ease of installing and un-installing, something that you could leave the bottom piece in the car and the top piece on the top itself as well and then you just line up the two and clamp or screw the two pieces together. is there such a thing or could i be onto something here???

It does exist. It's the OEM hardtop hardware.

^ Agree'd. Also I think Spyder562 is currently working on a 2 peice bracket similar to the OEM ones to make it a lot easier to put on. The VIS brackets arent to bad to take back off, but it may take you 10min to get them done.

yeah i know, it doesnt seem too bad ( from what your thread illustrates) but an inexpensive two piece alternative would be nice specially for those days you just want to take the HT off and go and not spend the time taking off the interior panels and all that.

does the oem kit work on aftermaket tops like vis, seibon, mugen ect...????

Yes. One of the major benefits (besides that it fits better) of the Mugen HT is that is comes with all the OEM hardware. The OEM hardware is pretty expensive and when buying a replica HT with OEM hardware, you might as well have bought the authentic one.
