hard top mounting plate question
Yeah I was the one with their front bumper and had the whole ordeal with them about it. Click my sig for that thread, and lately there has been other people having worse luck than me. TRD_Celica was kind enough to let them borrow his OEM side strakes to make molds and now won't ship them back to him. They also won't answer his messages anymore either, and it's not the first time they did something like that.
95% of the people that bought a Chaser hardtop has some kind of problem, big fitment issues, the rear bowing out, won't seal in the rear right, wind noise above the windshield at speeds 85 and over, ect..
The main reason i'm saying don't buy from them is of course they rip tons of people off, but also how do we know it's not their hardware causing some of the fitment issues with their tops also? Maybe they are to long and don't pull the top down far enough to seal it correctly in some places..I know it's easy get 2 metal brackets and bolt them together, but it takes a lot of measuring also and if its even a couple MM off, there will be gaps.
My honest opinion, buy OEM hardware, or just take the extra 10 minutes and take off the panels to un-bolt them really quick. Then just leave the panels off while your top down, and when your ready to put it back on just bolt the brackets on, put the panels back on, done.
