Headlights for 2002 S2K
My stock headlights are in decent shape, but these would be nice to have when I wanna spend a grand, lol. I typically trust HondaAutomotiveParts in terms of when they tell me stuff is discontinued. Sometimes dealers just have them on the shelves?
Right now I'm more interested in trying to find the actuator cable for the 06+ DBW cars from pedal to sensor....Honda wasted no time discontinuing certain parts after the 10 year obligation was up...wild that there's no availability within their warehouses for something that seldom, if ever, gets replaced.
No dates that I have seen yet. I will look closer when I go to install them.
OP, I hope you can find a solution to your need for headlights. Looks like you have a few available options.

So, you don't even have an AP1 but you call me out on availability of AP1 parts? Thanks for playing.

Here's my car that I supposedly don't own. Take care.

NismoBrad: I checked with LHTPerformance when I saw one of their recent videos where they replaced a set of AP1 lights for a customer. When I emailed asking about them, they said they could still get them. Well, if they could get them I figured I could, too. My vendor is posted above.
OP: Sorry to hijack your thread with all of this.

I called HondaAutomotiveParts (Its a dealer in CT) prior to placing my order with the same question. The guy confirmed that he had them in stock and told me to place my order. I did and was expecting to get an email/phone call telling me, "Turns out we cannot get them". Yet, 4-5 days later UPS dropped them at my door. I opened them just to be sure and they are AP1 headlights. I am beyond excited. In the past year or so I've been able to score an SSM painted OEM front lip and OEM AP1 headlights! Sure they were expensive, but for parts I never thought I could get? I think I'm doing pretty well!
To be clear, I never asked LHT where they were getting their parts. That just seems like a tacky thing to do. It'd be different if I were actually at their shop asking for them to put a set in.

Hey, no harm done. I see how the misunderstanding came about; no big deal my friend.
HAP used to be Majestic Honda, now they go by Balise Honda, and they're located in North Attleboro, MA. I only know this because I had to take a trip there when I owned an 8th gen Si nearly a decade ago that I bought some big-box items for, and funny enough, I'll need to make the same journey again soon as I've ordered new front fenders, bumpers, cowl, and a few other things. A buddy actually freaked me out about this, because he just recently got a set of new OEM fenders and he told me that they're now no longer being actively manufactured, and whatever stock is available within Hondas network/warehouses is what's left. And I'm not just hoarding parts, all of these need replacement on my car for various reasons, including me just being anal, so it lit a fire under me to get these parts sooner than later.
Appreciate the additional insight you had to add about calling them though, as it worked out for you; unfortunately in the past, it didn't work for me lol. Anyways, I'll give them a call a bit later, thanks! What I'd really like to do in actuality is get myself a set of JDM chrome headlights as I dig the chrome innards, but I'd run the amber marker vs. the clear (I think white is one of the few colors where the amber works well). Either way, Frankenstein headlights - very, very expensive headlights that always come with the risk of damaging or outright ruining when you start opening them up and swapping parts around.
ALSO APOLOGIES TO THE OP & MODS - not trying to threadjack, so I'll throw my personal opinion in: Don't bother with aftermarket headlights for anything except the lenses as others have said in this thread, and MAYBE the black housings if you have busted tabs. The projectors on aftermarket are total trash, whereas OEM S2000 headlights were one of, if not THE uncontested gold standard (and maybe still are - it's been a while) as far as projectors went for retrofits etc. The other issue with the OEM headlights minus the lenses degrading over time, is the inner black bezel, atleast on mine. Mine has started to develop bubbles on the portion right below and in front of the projector lens, which I can only attribute to heat from the projector itself, or the reflection from them if they're in the sun. I don't have the heart to try and repaint that piece though; don't want to mess it up or make it worse. The sad thing is, soon enough, unless aftermarkets or individuals take it upon themselves to manufacture quality replacement lenses & parts for these things, we'll have no choice but to just refurbish & restore rather than replace, which sucks.
