Heat Tape

Default Heat Tape

I want to mod out my Stock airbox and i want to try use some heat tape to have cooler air but i have a noob question do i use the heat tape on the inside of the box or the outside? also any mod idea would be great.

How much additional heat do you think the heat tape is going to block? The stock airbox is plastic, which doesn't transfer heat well. You'd be better off saving your time and money not trashing the stock airbox for .5 hp if you're lucky.

Work a few extra hours and save some money for a CAI.

Yea i guess but at the moment a CAI is out of the question for me other then being the money.

Outside. Plastic is a good insulator, but you have to understand that the plastic is also very thin. If anything, you will notice less heat-soak...than power gain.
