Default Modded stock airbox question

I'm about to mod my airbox, got a couple of questions. I know to get rid of that divider wall on the lower part of the airbox, but what about that duct thing on the top part of the airbox lid? Did you remove that as well? Thanks in advance.

There's debate on this issue. Personally, I took out the air guide, but others prefer to keep it in. I don't believe their is concrete evidence for either side.

i've also heard of people modifying the black plastic peice infront of the radiator to make more air flow from the grill. i'm not sure on specifics but i would love to see pics if anyone has this done and if they noticed any advantages or change in sounds.

The best thing to do with the piece you describe is to rip it out and replace it with an aftermarket airguide/cooling plate.
