Default help bring my 2k back to glory

I've had an 01 s2k since 03. for the last 7 months though it's sat in a parking spot rotting away.
proud to say, I'm now bringing that sucker back to life.
after new rubber, clutch, roof, brakes and calipers, and some much needed body work... I have the itch to keep going.
where's a good place to start for some more get up and go? I don't like juice and am not ready for (but looooove) forced induction.
motor mods( injectors, cams, valves, etc?)
I wanna do this right and do it myself. I have other rides so I'm not opposed to long/pain in the ass projects.

car is an 01. 107k miles.
any ideas or are greatly appreciated.

Pics? The question I always ask when someone starts a build is what are you planning on doing with this vehicle? Auto X? Track days? Drag? Daily Driving? Combinations? Those things must be answered because the build will be guided by the purpose. IMO its retarded to throw down shit tons of money for HP, performance etc into a car that you'll be freeway cruising in only. A track car for example is not really very comfortable, not really reliable and not always the best choice. The point is pick the path then go accordingly.

I'm not necessarily looking to "do"anything special as far as drag it or autocross or anything...
I bought this car cause I love to drive it. but who among us doesn't like a little more oomph outta the pedal.
so I guess that's all in looking for.
let's face it... none of us have these cars because they are practical or economical. ever try to get 2 sets of golf clubs in one??
so, to answeryiur question... I just want it to be even
more of what it already is. quick, good handling, and fun as hell...

nothing beats gears. final gear drive and ap2 transmission. it will definitely make the car feel more livelier and accelerate pretty well. bolt ons wont get you very far in this car. but having a VAFC will be very useful if you are looking into a light tune. your 2001 model is known to run rich at the peak rpms. people who lean it out have impressive gains.
