i would say for visibility and looks, 6000k would be best.

the high beam bulb is a H1 halogen bulb, if i recall correctly

I would have never thought to change out the bulb for better visibility as the OE HID lights are great. A friend of mine put a pair of 10K bulbs in and wound up with bluish, brighter looking lights. As I am well versed in lumen output and different color temperatures I figured the 10K bulbs would in fact be dimmer.

The truth is, we were parked next to each other at night and compared our lights side by side. I could no longer see my dim, halogen-looking lights in contrast. I saw first hand that the 10K bulbs he had were indeed brighter. Even if this is just a trick of the eye, I use my eyes to drive, not a lumen sensor.

That being said, I installed a set of 10K bulbs in my car for $75 and have been extremely happy with the results. Call it "ricer" if you will, I just call it an upgrade.

And that's my $0.02

you also have to factor in the age/ hours used of the bulb you compared the 10K bulbs to keep it apples to apples.

Seriously if you dont like the yellow tint, go with 5000k i wouldnt go with anything highier than 5000k.

I have them and its almost the same as stock performance, its icewhite with a whiff of very subtle blue more white than anything.

We both drive AP1 S2000s, so yes, apples to apples.

I had to see it to believe it.
