Each brand of hid have different shades of color. 4300k will get you the most light output. Anything above that you start to lose light output. Although you it may "seem" brighter it only illuminate signs and reflective things more but you actually can't see as much.

4300k and 6000k are not much different so if you want more color I would go no higher then that.

All three 6000k hid kits my buddy had on his maxima looked dim as hell. So to me even 6k doesn't compare to my stock lights.

However maybe it's our diesel projectors that put others to shame?

I have always gotten the higher kelven color h.i.d kits (12k) in all my cars. My first kit I purchased were Phillips 35watt (JUNK!) I paid $450 for the kit back in 03-04 and they were the worst kit I have ever had. They always had issues with turning on etc and everything was hooked up correctly.

The second kit was some 35watt $100 shipped over night deal from Honda-tech, They worked well and never gave me issues. I sold the car and they went with it.

The third and fourth kit I purchased was from ddmtuning. It was the 12k 55 watt kits for my old 07' r6 and 06' civic sedan. Both kits were night and day brighter than the old 35 watt style so I highly reccomend the 55 watt upgrade. They always worked great and never gave me any issues.

Call me ricer if you will, But I like the 12k 55 watt combo. It looked really good and visibility was amazing. Don't believe everything you read on the internet until you talk to someone that has had them.

I upgraded to the 55w kit with 5000k bulbs. Much brighter in appearance on the road. They have just the slightest hint of blue to them. Got the kit from Retro-Solutions for about $155 shipped. Mine OEM had started to dim compared to newer cars on the road. Now when I roll past other cars with OEM HID mine are much brighter on the road.
