high beam + drl
since i have an 08 if i do swap out my high beams with different bulbs will my DRL function in a different way? i mean for DRL's the high beam isnt fully engaged correct? its like dimmed in a way? how does it work with different bulbs?
It's about 50% power for DRLs. Here are some of the pics of my bulbs.
As you can see, the Polarg's 5000K comes out with the best color, with the least yellow. As you can see, the the farther down the light spectrum you go, the dimmer the light is. The 7050K I got was a mistake. It's barely brighter than the HIDs.
OEM lo-beam - Not sure of the kelvins, but it's below 5000K

OEM hi-beam

Polarg lo-beam - 5000K

Luminics lo-beam - 7050K

Luminics hi-beam

I swapped mine out with PIAA's and they work the same way. I was hoping it would lose some of the yellowness but running at half power didn't help matters. Looks good at full blast high beam but that is hardly used.

i swapped mine out with the PIAA xtremeforce 4700k bulbs and i am very happy with the color. nearly identical to OEM HID. found them on the bay for $65 pair.

so its the computer giving out 50% of the power? im trying to change to some yellow high beams. would this affect anything in terms of the high beam being TOO bright during the day?
