I got HID high beams, a 55 watt kit, theyre bright as ****. I usually turn them on when i first turn the car on. Once you warm them up they'll be good for about 15 minutes, then thell need to warmup again , make sure to get a digital ballast with the "warmup protection"
On the high beams if you dont have the warmup protection , it will feed too much current into the already warm bulbs and they'll go out in less than a year (friends jetta)

Install was pretty straightforward. the ballasts hooked into the stock h1 slot.

I think pretty much all the aftermarket kits only last a few years.... so you might be replacing them depending on how much you use your high's
I have a 4300k kit which matches the stockers, 3000 k , as stated before is yellow.

^true. If you're going with 3000K anyway, wouldnt that be a yellow output? You would be able to just run a normal bulb and it would do the same thing. The 100W idea might be good if youre just looking for brighter high beams. Its not a good thing to keep flicking HID's on/off also, which you might need for a -flash to pass- or something.
just because its yellow doesnt mean its not bright. i know two motorcycle riders that only have 3000k as there driving and night lights. they are pretty bright. i think if he was to run 12000k with high beams on it would be ok

They sell a super bright highbeam that puts out 100w over our 55w. You'll need higher gauge wire and relays. You'll have instant on and lots of light. The bulbs are sold for "service vehicles".
"They?" Any more info on these? I drive a "service vehicle."

As some have said, because they won't be instant on I wouldn't bother with it.

If you google "H1 100w" you'll see many for sale. They only last about 100 hours, but only cost $5-10. I haven't found a comparison of brands, so some experimentation may be needed to find the best manufacturer. Don't get any of the "white" bulbs, or with blue filters. They actually put out less light.

Here is an osram 100w that puts out 2700 lumens! Consider that your 55w bulbs put out around 1500-1700 and you get the idea. I haven't tested the heat output on these bulbs yet so anyone who tries this please be warned that it may melt your housing. You MUST run bigger wires and relays as well. It's not a hard job though.

And edit yet again: this has been hashed over quite a bit here on s2ki. A search for "h1 100w" will yield a wealth of knowledge. Seems like many are running 100w bulbs with no problems.

You need to run new wiring for 100w bulbs, and they wont be as bright as HID, or be true white .
but they will be instant on.
I had a Malibu maxx with 100 watt bulbs for hi beams. They lit up the road more than adequately.
Also if you have subs, you cant run your highs, becuase they will be very dimm, so you'll need to buy some cap's (capacitators), and the dimming wont be as noticable/ wont dim with the beat.
But that was on a Malibu, I would suspect the S2000 to behave worse.
I had a 500 watt sub + stock stereo at 250 watts. But i don't know the wattage of the s2k alternator

Also, just a side note, going with a 100w bulb, you're almost twice as likely to cause heat or stress cracks to your headlight lens. They may be brighter, but consider the side effect. And for $40, you can't beat a plug and play H1 HID kit... Not to mention, the decrease in amperage draw and internal lamp temperature. PLUS, most importantly, the increase in visibility.

I've read nothing on cracking the lens. Reference? The hids aren't instant on. That's a deal breaker to me.
