Every once in a while when posts on shift knobs come up, I like to include the following post made by one of the founding members of our S2000 community, pdippel. Enjoy:

[QUOTE]Posted by pdippell on Honda-Acura net. 26 January, 2000

In the expanding quest for ever more obsessive minutiae about the S2000, I humbly present: the comparative weights of the stock aluminum shift knob and the optional titanium shift knob. Having just received the titanium shift knob, I removed the aluminum one (not a one step procedure, but two, yet that is in and of itself a topic for a future post) and weighed them both on my wife's digital kitchen scale. For the sake of brevity, I will leave out the make, model and various atmospheric, gravitic and other influences on the scale, except to say that it has an accuracy of +/- 2.5 grams, and offer for your consideration the actual tested weight of these two particular specimens:

Aluminum knob: 150 grams (5.25 oz)

A shift knob is one of the parts you WANT to be heavier. More weight on the end of the stick gives your throw more force and makes it easier to shift.

I've seen 2 versions of the Honda Ti. Older versions seem to be more shiny and newer ones more matte, like the one pictured above. I bought the new style from HandA, I like it alot.

This is the only picture I have available right now, but this is the Honda TI shift knob that was available as an option on the car in 2000.

Sorry I don't have a closeup.

Here's a pic from one bought from HandA for an AP2. Looks pretty much the same as the one in the 2002 AP1... I've seen one that looked more polished before.
