I think thats because you may have installed it a little side ways.

I would also like to know what the deal is with hood props on a OEM hood compared to CF... i cant really see how it can damage it if you have it mounted on both sides..

They were as straight as they could be. it wasn't from the mounting point, but from the ball joint that hit the fender when they were closed

i got the ebay ones for $40, and by far the best mod you can do for the s2k. I'm very happy with mines.

Yeah thats what i meant, the ball portion was sitting wrong.

i dont know the difference. but i had a carbon fiber hood. i ran the SOS dampers on them for a while and i opened and closed my hood alot. oil changes, coolant check, oil check and etc. i havent seen any stress cracks or anything. i am pretty anal but i did not notice anything. for reference i had a siebon mg hood. 10K plus miles and no problems. the only thing were that the screws that came with the dampers were too long. other than that, nothing to complain about.

I just purchased the SOS dampers and installed them using the NRG mounts. My Nrg dampers failed after just 9 months. I would have used the SOS mounts, but it would have required drilling my Spoon hood. I just wasn't comfortable with that, and they don't rub the fenders anyway with the NRG ball mounts. Anyway, I just wanted to let people know the NRG mounts are cheaper for a reason. You get what you pay for!. SOS all the way.

dampers for carbon fiber hoods are half pressure of those for regular oem hoods. honestly, i'll stick with the $40 ebay ones.
