Default How to adjust Spoon-Showa coilovers

Hi everybody,

I have the black Spoon Showa adjustable coilovers but lost my description how to adjust the damper rates.
I know on top of the dampers there is (in my case -was-) the scales with numbers 1 to 5. But these scales are unreadible, the printed numbers are faded or the plastic rings with the numbers are broken.

So I have no idea where the softest and where the stiffest location is. Unfortunatly the adjustment screw can be turned all around (360 degree).
Does anybody have a picture of the top of these dampers so that I might have an idea where the numbers of these scales must be?

Thanks in advance

Bernd

I have the same coilovers and the tabs for the settings have fallen off. Also I think there due for a rebuild.

I have a suggestion and I have tried before and it worked. Take off the front and rear shocks. Trying to adjust the dampening then compress the shaft, the softer it is, the faster the shaft will go in and out of the shocks. The stiffer it is, the shaft will go in/out harder and slower. Once you find the softest setting, you can use a colour marker to mark it so you will know where to start.

Hope this will work out for you .

Thanks very much! The rear coilovers are already out, I will try this.
But are you sure that rebound is adjusted? Not compression?
I thought that Koni's are the only ones with adjustable rebound....

The Spoon Showas are compression and rebound single adjustment so that will pretty much work.

It worked!!
Wow, I figured out that my old setting all around was at the first click - the long one....
No wonder the car was feeling too soft. I adjusted them now at the forth click after the longer one.

Thanks again, Fodden
